    Preparation Mounting the Auxiliary Handle It is not allowed to operate the garden tool without mounting the auxiliary handle (11)! Mount the auxiliary handle by using the included screws onto the shaft of the motor unit, as shown in the picture on the right.

    Pole Pruner click Mounting 1. Depress the safety pin and insert the pole pruner attachment onto the motor unit. 2. Make sure the safety pin engages securely into the provided opening. You will hear a click sound. 3. Tighten the pole pruner attachment by using the screw cap (10). Mounting the Guide Bar and the Saw Chain Always wear protective gloves when mounting the saw chain (3).

    Pole Pruner 2. Guide the chain over the drive sprocket. The chain tensioning device must lock into the corresponding hole in the guide bar. 3. Attach the plastic cover (8) slightly tighten retaining nut. 4. Use the tensioning screw to tighten the saw chain.
  • Page 16 Regularly check the oil level in the tank and re-fill with oil in time.  Only use biodegradable chain oil (e.g. Westfalia Biological Adhesive, article number 76 63 78). Pour the chain oil into the oil tank (8). Do not use motor oil or other mineral oils.

    Pole Pruner  If the oil level in the tank does not drop, the oil duct in the housing and the guide bar may be clogged. Check and clean it as needed.  Caution! The saw can re-oil. Please note that the saw re-oils after use and oil may leak out if it is stored on its side or on the head.

    Pole Pruner Mounting the Extension Pole 1. Remove the protection caps (2). 2. Depress the safety pin and insert the extension pole (1) into the motor unit pole. 3. Make sure the safety pin locks securely into provided click opening. You will hear a click sound.

    Hedge Trimmer click Mounting 1. Depress the safety pin and insert the hedge trimmer attachment into the motor unit pole. 2. Make sure the safety pin locks securely into the provided opening. You will hear a click sound. Tighten the pole by using the screw cap (10).

    Hedge Trimmer  Tilt the cutting bar in order to adjust the desired working angle.  Only tilt the cutting bar when the motor is switched off!  NOTICE: After shutting down the engine the blades of the cutting bar may not immediately come to a standstill. Always wait for the blades to stop moving before setting the unit down.
  • Page 22 Hedge Trimmer  If the hedge trimmer becomes jammed, never attempt to remove cut material from the blade bar while the engine is running. First stop the engine and then carefully remove the obstruction.  Do not press down the hedge trimmer while cutting. Always avoid overloading the engine.

    Grass Trimmer Mounting the Spool Housing Before working on the unit disconnect the motor unit from power mains! Before the first use pull the cutting lines (20) out of the spool housing, until a length of approx. 20 cm is protruding out of the housing. For pulling out the cutting line depress the release button in the middle of the spool housing and simultaneously pull on the ends of the cutting lines.

    Grass Trimmer 7. If the cutting line (20) breaks and does not protrude out of the opening in the spool housing (19), first unscrew the spool housing from the gardening tool. 8. Undo the screw cap of the spool housing. The inner spring will push out the bottom part of the spool housing.

    Always wear gloves during maintenance. Lubricating the Pole Pruner Lubricate all movable parts. Use Lithium machine grease. Suitable grease and grease guns can be purchased from Westfalia. Maintenance of the Guide Bar Remove the guide bar and clean the oil filler hole with a brush or blow it out with compressed air.
