Q There are 2 types of information displayed in the data broadcasting
area: "Data broadcasting" and "Data broadcasting site." "Data
broadcasting" is transmitted along with audio-visual data via the
broadcast wave, while you need to connect to a site prepared by TV
broadcaster (TV station) from the information contained in the data
broadcasting in order to view "Data broadcasting site."
You are charged a packet communication fee for browsing "Data
broadcasting site." You might be charged an information fee for using
some sites.
Broadcasting waves
1Seg is one of the broadcasting services receiving radio waves
(broadcasting waves) different from that used for the FOMA services.
Therefore, you might not be able to receive 1Seg broadcast in places
where there is not broadcasting waves regardless of FOMA service
area.
Also, reception condition might be deteriorated or you might not be able
to receive 1Seg broadcast in places as follows even if you are in the
terrestrial digital TV broadcasting service area:
Q Places far away from radio towers that transmit broadcasting waves
Q Places there waves are interrupted by land features and buildings,
such as mountain-ringed regions or behind buildings
Q Places where waves are weakened or reached, such as in tunnels,
underground, or recesses of buildings
To improve reception conditions, fully extend the 1Seg antenna. Also
the reception conditions might be improved by changing the direction of
the antenna or by moving yourself to another place.
1Seg antenna
To watch 1Seg broadcasting, fully extend the 1Seg antenna.
Pull out the tip of the 1Seg antenna
and extend it until it stops
Q To stow the 1Seg antenna, hold it near the base and push it straight
down until it stops.
Q When you do not watch 1Seg broadcasting, stow the 1Seg antenna.
Also stow the 1Seg antenna before making a call.
