6. SV-MAP-270 Navigation Mapping License Purchase and Setup

Map functions are not supported in SkyView SE. If you intend to install and use
SkyView SE, do not purchase or install an SV-MAP-270 (or any other license).
Note the above changes only affect the formerly optional SV-MAP-270 and the
resulting map functions (ability to display maps and charts). Non-US aviation and
obstacle databases, and US aviation charts, must still be purchased – see below.
To permanently enable map functions on a SkyView Classic system with Software version 3.0
through Software version 14.2, the SV-MAP-270 Navigation Mapping License must be installed
on at least one SkyView display in a SkyView system. If you purchased your SkyView Classic
system prior to August, 2016, the SV-MAP-27 0 is available for purchase from Dynon Avionics or
any Dynon Avionics dealer. Software version 3.0 and earlier included a free trial of map
functions.
In place of the unlimited free trial period that existed prior to version 3.0, SkyView Software
version 3.0 through version 14.2 include a 30 flight hour trial of the Navigation Mapping License
that allows you to experience map functions without purchasing an SV-MAP-270. After 30 flight
hours, the MAP menu and all navigation and mapping features will not be available until an SV-
MAP-270 is installed on at least one SkyView display in a SkyView system.

License Information

The SV-MAP-270 Navigation Mapping License is can be purchased from Dynon Avionics and
Dynon Avionics dealers and entering it into your SkyView system. Only one Navigation Mapping
License is needed in a SkyView system (one, two, or three SkyView displays). The SkyView
Classic display with the license installed stores the license information for the entire system. In
normal use, license information is shared with all displays connected via SkyView Network to
allow the SV-MAP-270 to be operated on any display in the system.
Checking License Status
Display of MAP is not supported in SkyView SE. If you intend to install and use
SkyView SE, do not purchase or install an SV-MAP-270 (or any other license).
To check whether a SkyView system is has a Navigation Mapping License installed, go to SETUP
MENU > LOCAL DISPLAY SETUP > LICENSE, and look at the status of the MAP line. Possible
license statuses include:
 LICENSED (THIS DISPLAY): The SkyView system is has a Navigation Mapping License
installed. This display stores the license information and allows displays in an aircraft to also
use the Navigation Mapping License.
 LICENSED - CONNECTED DISPLAY ONLINE: The SkyView system is licensed to use the
Navigation Mapping License. This display is currently connected to a licensed display.
