You can turn on the player using the remote
Press ?/1 (POWER) when the indicator above the ?/1 (POWER)
button on the front panel is lit in red.
Notes
• If you leave the player or the remote in pause or stop mode for
15 minutes, the screen saver image appears automatically. It
will also appear if you playback a CD for more than 15
minutes. To make the screen saver image go away, press H.
(If you want to set the screen saver function to off, see page 50.)
• The indicator above the ?/1 (POWER) button lights up in red
when the power is turned off.
• If you don't operate the player or the remote for more than 30
minutes when a disc is not being played, the power is
automatically turned off. (Auto Power Off function)
• When you insert an 8-cm (3-inch) disc, insert the disc slowly at
the center of the disc slot. If you cannot eject the disc, consult
the shop or refer to the Sony Web site where you purchased this
player.
• With some new discs, glue from the manufacturing process
may be present on the outer edge. Forcing such discs into the
player may cause the disc to get stuck. Wipe the edge of the
disc with the side of a pen or pencil so that the glue is spread
evenly along the edge and does not ball up. Be sure not to
touch the playback side of the disc when wiping the edge. Then
insert the disc into the player.
• With some new discs, burrs from manufacturing may remain
on the outer edge or inside the center hole. If such burrs are
present, be sure to remove them by rubbing with the side of a
pen or pencil. If burrs are not removed, discs may not load
properly into the player, or fragments of plastic adhering to the
playback side of the disc may cause skipping in the sound.
• No adapter is required in order to play 8-cm (3-inch) CDs on
this player. If a single adapter is used, damage to the unit may
result; therefore, never use an adapter when playing 8-cm (3-
inch) CDs.
• When you move the player, take out any discs. If you don't,
the disc may be damaged.
