Aftertouch Messages (Channel Aftertouch only)
These messages convey the functioning of the aftertouch feature provided by some keyboards.
(The SK-50's keyboard is not equipped with this feature.) Aftertouch allows for certain
modifications to be applied to notes being sounded depending on the amount of pressure that is
further placed on a key after it has initially been pressed. There are two types of Aftertouch:
Channel and Polyphonic. Channel Aftertouch applies the same effect (no matter which keys had
more pressure applied to them) identically throughout the keyboard, for all sounds sharing the
same MIDI channel. Polyphonic Aftertouch, however, is capable of responding to pressure
differences on an individual key basis, so only the specific notes where you pressed the keys
using a different amount of pressure will sound differently.
<RX> At the factory defaults, the unit will ignore all Aftertouch messages. However, it can be
set to make use of Aftertouch by using Exclusive messages to specify what type of control is
desired (MIDI Implementation p.50).
All Sounds Off Message
This message completely silences all notes that may have been sounding.
<RX> All notes sounding on the specified channel will immediately be silenced.
All Notes Off Message
This message is used to turn off as a whole all notes for which a Note On had previously been
sent.
<RX> All notes on the specified channel for which a Note On had previously been specified
will be issued a Note Off. Note, however, that if Hold 1 or Sostenuto is ON at that time, the
notes will continue sounding until these messages are OFF.
Reset All Controllers Message
This message is used to set the values for all controllers to their factory defaults.
<RX> All controllers listed below (those for the specified channel) will be set to their defaults.
