When a Drum Set is selected for the Part
Changes to a different Drum Set are made using only Program Change messages. When wishing
to use an external device to specify a Drum Set, you should first refer to the Drum Set Chart (
p.32) to find out the Program Change number of the desired Drum Set.

* The arrangement used for Note Numbers 35—81 in the Standard Set complies with the
organization used by the 47 percussive sounds defined for the GM System.
In order to accomplish a change from a Tone to a Drum Set, or a change from a Drum Set to a
Tone, you need to insert a "Use for Rhythm Part" Exclusive message (
MIDI Implementation p.
49) before the Bank Select message. The SK-50 is not capable of automatically sending such
messages.
Pitch Bend Messages
These messages convey the action of a Pitch Bender (Pitch Bend Wheel). They cause alterations
to be made in the pitch of notes being sounded.
<TX> Describe (on a continuous basis) the amount of alteration to be made in the pitch
relative to the current Pitch Bend Range. The amount of alteration is controlled by pressing the
Pitch Bend key after the Pitch Bend/Modulation feature has been turned ON (
SOLO Volume,
p. 19); or by depressing an Expression pedal that has been connected and assigned either the
Bend Up or Bend Down functions (
SOLO Volume, p. 25).
<RX> Cause alterations in the pitch of notes being sounded. Should you wish to use MIDI to
specify the Pitch Bend Range (maximum amount of pitch shift permitted), you will need to use
the "Pitch Bend Sensitivity" RPN (
p. 17).
If you employ Exclusive messages (
MIDI Implementation p. 50) to set the effect obtained
from Pitch Bend, you can have the cut-off frequency or volume altered instead of the pitch.
