Configuring TCP/IP addresses

Configuration in Windows NT4

Click on the Windows Start button.
Select Settings, then Control Panel.
Open the folder named Network.
Select the Protocols Tab.
If there is no entry for TCP/IP, click Add, then select TCP/IP and follow on-screen
directions.
After TCP/IP protocol installation, click on Properties. On the IP Address tab, select the
proper adapter (NIC), then select the method of obtaining your IP address. For an iso-
lated network, click on "Specify An IP Address".
Complete the IP Address and Subnet Mask according to your network configuration
(Figure
3-5).
The Default Gateway and the DNS settings could be needed when connecting to a cor-
porate network. For an isolated network, these settings are not used.
Follow the instructions on the screen and reboot as necessary.
