KE2700 VISA Based IVI Instrument Driver

The KE2700 Instrument Driver is provided free with the 2700, 2701, and 2750 instruments.
All of Keithley's Integra Series software uses the KE2700 Instrument driver to communicate
with the instrument. For experienced programmers who prefer to build fully custom systems
from scratch, the KE2700 driver can be used with Application Development environments
such as LabView, LabWindows CVI, Visual Basic, C/C++, and TestPoint. The KE2700 driver
uses VISA (supplied) to manage communications with the instrument.
The following describes the benefits of using VISA and IVI drivers. Refer to
descriptions of the KE2700 VISA Based IVI Instrument Driver features.
Benefits of VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture)
Benefits of IVI (Interchangeable Virtual Instruments) Drivers
Provides transparent software compatibility with Ethernet, GPIB, and RS-232. No soft-
ware changes are required when changing communication bus type.
Hides the complexity of the communications bus using a common programming model
for greater ease of use.
Protects your investment in software development by making programs easily scalable
for later reuse.
Protects software development investments by ensuring software compatibility and
interchangeability from instrument to instrument within the same family (such as
Model 2700, 2701, and 2750).
Supports a wide range of Application Development Environments such as LabView,
LabWindows CVI, Visual Basic, C/C++, and TestPoint.
Supplies a common programming interface based on the ANSI-C standard.
Hides the complexity of instrument dependent commands (SCPI).
Provides online, built-in, context sensitive help.
