Powering the accessory

T
his accessory operates best at 12-18 volts (AC). You may choose to supply power with a
separate accessory power supply or through the track using a Lionel Lockon (available
separately, 6-62900) or a FasTrack Accessory Power Wire (available separately, 6-12053). Refer
to Figure 1. To make the proper connections, the ends of the wires must be stripped back 1/8" to
1/4".
Only an adult should perform this task. We recommend using a pair of wire

strippers. Always use care when stripping wires.
1. Attach one wire to a POWER terminal on the underside of the accessory and connect it to the
Power/A terminal on your power supply or to the #1 Lockon terminal. If you are using the
FasTrack Accessory Power Wire, twist the accessory wire to the Accessory Power Wire, which
must be attached to the track. We recommend using a wire nut to insulate this connection.
To make the spring clip terminal connection, press down on the top portion of the

spring clip so that the metal loop is exposed. Slide the bare end of the wire into the
loop, then release pressure on the spring clip.
2. Attach another wire to the remaining POWER terminal and connect it to connect it to the
Common/Ground/U terminal on the power supply or the #2 terminal on the Lionel Lockon.
FasTrack users, twist the end of the wire to the remaining Accessory Power Wire and insulate
the connection.
3. Attach a wire to each of the FIRE terminals on the underside of the accessory and connect
them to the screw terminals on the spearate switch.
To make the switch connection, loosen the screw, wrap the wire around the post, and
Note!
tighten the screw to secure the connection.
