Powering the accessory

T
his accessory operates best at 12-18 volts (AC). You may choose to supply power with a
separate accessory power supply or through the track using a Lionel Lockon (available
separately, 6-62900) or a FasTrack Accessory Power Wire (available separately, 6-12053). Refer
to Figure 1. To make the proper connections, the ends of the wires must be stripped back 1/8" to
1/4".
Only an adult should perform this task. We recommend using a pair of wire

strippers. Always use care when stripping wires.
1. Attach one wire to the A terminal on the base of the accessory and connect it to the Power/A
terminal on your power supply or to the #1 Lockon terminal. If you are using the FasTrack
Accessory Power Wire, simply connect the bare end of this wire to the A terminal on the
accessory.
To make the thumbscrew connection, loosen the thumbscrew, insert the bare end of

the wire into the hole in the post, and tighten the thumbscrew to secure the
connection.
2. Attach one wire to the U terminal on the base of the accessory and connect it to the
Common/Ground/U terminal on the power supply or the #2 terminal on the Lionel Lockon.
If you are using the FasTrack Accessory Power Wire, simply connect the bare end of this wire
to a U terminal on the accessory.
3. Attach a wire to each of the SWITCH terminals and connect them to the separate switch.
To make the switch connection, loosen the screw, wrap the wire around the post, and

tighten the screw to secure the connection.
