9.3.4 Pick-up Clutch Mechanism

the paper tray feed mode, when
In
the Start key is pressed, the tray
feed gear starts rotating and the tray
feed solenoid [A] is energized. As
the tray feed solenoid is energized,
the tray feed pawl [B] is moved
away from the tray feed clutch [C].
The tray feed gear [D] rotation is
then transmitted to the tray feed
roller [E] and the pick-up roller [F].
Also, when the tray feed solenoid is
energized, the pick-up pawl [G] is
moved away from the pick-up clutch
[H]; thus, the pick-up projection [I]
is released.
Then, the tray feed
gear rotation is transmitted to the
pick-up clutch cam [J].
When the pick-up clutch cam
rotates counterclockwise, the sector
gear pin [K] drops down off the lobe
of the pick-up clutch cam. Then,
the sector gear [L] rotates counter-
clockwise and the pick-up cam [M]
rotates clockwise. This forces the
pick-up roller to drop down. At this
time the pick-up cam pushes
against the center fence pin [N] and
the center fence [O] swings down.
