Disconnecting the front and side passenger airbags
The passenger seat airbags must be disconnected when a
backward facing child seat is fitted in the front passenger
seat.

Controls and equipment
The key switch can be used to disconnect the front and side airbag
for the passenger seat. The other airbags in the vehicle will remain
active.

– Turn off the engine.
– Open the glove compartment in the central part of the instrument
panel.
– Turn the key switch to the OFF position using the ignition key ⇒
fig. 199.
– Check that the PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF indicator on the
instrument panel remains on when starting the engine ⇒

– Close the glove compartment in the central part of the

instrument panel.
