Installing Software Updates

The RCP operating system and software are installed on a removable compact flash
hard drive. The operating system and software can be replaced or updated by replacing
the compact flash hard drive with a new one containing the new software already
installed.
To prevent corruption of the C:/: drive, always shut down the RCP before
removing the flash card.
1.
After shutting down the RCP, access the rear panel of the RCP (Figure 22).
2.
Push the retainer button (located just to the left of the compact flash card) to
release the compact flash card from the connector.
3.
Grasp the end of the compact flash card and pull it out from its mounting
connector. Note the orientation of the compact flash card.
4.
Obtain the replacement compact flash card.
5.
Ensure that the replacement compact flash card is correctly oriented, and
insert the compact flash card into its mounting connector.
6.
Push the replacement compact flash card securely into its mounting
connector.
