Connecting the RCP(s) to the Camera(s)

Typical installations are summarized in Figure 6 and Figure 7.

Connecting the RCP Directly to the DS-4 Device Server

The RCP can be connected directly to the DS-4 Device Server if no more than four
cameras are installed within approximately 300 feet of the RCP and they are all
connected to the same DS-4.
In this case, an Ethernet crossover cable is used to connect the RCP to the DS-4.
If you have questions concerning the components that are required for a
particular installation, contact your Telemetrics representative.
1.
Connect one end of the Ethernet crossover cable to the main Ethernet
connection on the RCP (Figure 12).
2.
Connect the other end of the Ethernet crossover cable to the DS-4 Device
Server.

The backup Ethernet connection is not used when a single DS-4
is connected to the RCP.
