IGNITION SYSTEM INSPECTION
NOTE '
If t here is no spa rk at pl ug, chec k all connection s
for Joose or poor contact before measuring each
peak vo ltage .
Use recommended d igital multimeter or commer·
cia ll y available d i g i tal multi me t er wi t h an
impedance of 10 Mn/DCV m in imum,
The d isplay value differs depending upon t he
internal impedance oft ha mult im eter.
If using pea k voltage tester (U.S.A . only), follow

Connect the peak voltage adapto r to the digital
mult im ete r, o r use the peak vo ltage test er (U.S.A.
on ly).
TOO LS:
Peak voltage tester (U.S.A. only) or
Peak vouge adaptor 07HGJ·OO20100
(not available in U.S.A.) w ith commercially available
digiUI multimeter (impedan ce to M a/ DCV
minimum)

NOTE:
Chec k all system connm:t ions befo re inspect ion.
If the system is di sconnec ted . incorrect peak
voltage m ight be measur ed .
Check cyli nder compressi on and check th at the
spa rk plug is install ed correctly.
Shift the transm ission into neutral and disconnect
the spark plug cap from t he spark plug.
Connect a known good spark ptug to the spar1c plug
cap and ground the spark plug to the cy l il1der as
done in a spark tes1.
