Gobo/Iris Assembly Replacement

Vari-Lite Part No: 21.9698.0200
To remove and replace gobo/iris assembly:
Step 1. Run Zoom to full forward position (DMX 255).
Step 2. Remove power from luminaire.
WARNING: You must remove all power from luminaire before performing maintenance. Fixture
may be very HOT after operation. Allow it to cool completely before performing any maintenance.
Step 3. Remove top head cover by loosening four quarter-turn captive locking screws. Top cover is
identifiable as the cover on top when back label is such that words are displayed correct side
up.
Note: Before disconnecting any wiring/cables, make note of all wire/cable routing.
Step 4. Remove Color/Dimmer/Strobe Assembly as described in
Replacement" on page
Step 5. Disconnect head cable from Color Assembly Interconnect PCB, remove wiring from
Transfer Fan clips.
Step 6. At interconnect board, disconnect the wiring at J10, J11, J3, and J12.
Step 7. At Gobo / Iris Assembly clamps, loosen four 6-32 captive screws (two per clamp) and
remove clamp. (Note: the large Phillips screw in the middle is used as a handle, DO NOT try
to loosen that screw).
Step 8. Pull Gobo / Iris Assembly straight out of fixture.
Clamp
Step 9. Replace by performing previous steps in reverse order.
Note: Always tighten MCB-side clamps FIRST when installing.
