Introduction

This document describes functions and settings available for the Avaya 3740 Cordless
Telephone. The telephone is feature-rich telephone with illuminated display, telephony, and
messaging. It is a highly robust telephone designed to be used in demanding environment,
for example the industry.
It is suitable for users dependent of being reachable and/or having a need for mobile voice
and messaging functions, which makes it ideal for applications where the user needs either
one way messaging or to be able to interact with other users. The display enhances and
simplifies the use of the cordless telephones.

Manual, Cordless Telephones 3740/3749 for Avaya, TD 92657GB.

Target Group

This document is intended for the responsible (for expample the system administrator) for
handling the administration and distribution of telephones at the end customer site, or
anyone (for example the end-user) interested to get deeper usage knowledge.

Prerequisite

Before using the telephone for the first time, the system administrator must subscribe it to
the system. See

Configuration of some functions require PDM/AIWS which is administrated by the system
administrator. The following chapters refer to the Configuration Manual, Cordless
