Important information
Before starting up the unit please observe the
details contained in Safety Information No.
5.956-249, and note the following:
• If any transport damage is discovered while
unpacking the unit, inform your dealer
immediately.
• Accessories have been packed in the contain-
er to avoid any damage to them during trans-
port; remove all accessories before starting up
the unit.
• The mains supply voltage must correspond to
the voltage shown on the rating plate.
Guarantee
The terms of the guarantee that is applicable in
each country are published by our respective
national distributors. Any fault that occurs with
your appliance during the guarantee period will
be repaired free of charge, provided that it has
been caused by a material or manufacturing
defect.
Guarantee claims should be addressed to your
dealer. Please always include the accessories
and documentary evidence of purchase when
submitting your appliance for repair.
Only use original Kärcher spare parts. Only with
these spare parts is your appliance guaranteed
to function constantly and reliably

Assembly
• Undo the container clips, and lift off the
vacuum assembly (Illustration A).
• Remove the accessories from the container.
• Turn the container over, and press the swivel
casters into the holes provided until they lock
into place (Illustration B).
• Fit the filter bag for dry-vacuuming onto the
elbow segment. Be careful not to damage the
paper section (only grasp the filter bag by the
cardboard parts – Illustration C).
• Place the vacuum assembly onto the
container, and secure with the clips.

Starting up the unit

• Insert the suction hose adapter into the
connection on the unit.
• Attach the suction tubes to the hose. Push the
floor nozzle or crevice nozzle onto the suction
tube. Any combination of accessories is
possible.
• The floor nozzle can be used in conjunction
with the corresponding element for either wet
or dry vacuuming (Illustration F).
• Insert the mains plug into the socket, and
switch the cleaner on.
Utilization
Dry-vacuuming
• It is possible to vacuum normal and coarse dirt
with just the filter cartridge fitted.
• The filter bag must be fitted for vacuuming fine
dust particles (see "Assembly").
Note: Damage could be caused to the paper
filter bag if any coarse or sharp objects are
picked up by the cleaner.
