GPIO & RS232 Troubleshooting
Failure:
PATS parameters HW_CHECK_UART, HW_CHECK_GPIO failed
Connect the radio's accessory connector to the Tetra Com interface.
On the optional 7 pin accessory connector connect pin 3 to pin 4 and
connect pin 5 to pin 6. This is only possible when the rear RS232
interface has been installed in the radio.
On the 20 pin accessory connector connect pin 3, pin 4, pin 12 and
pin 14 together.
On the 20 pin accessory connector connect pin 9 to pin 10 to switch
on the radio.
Run Tetra Com script for GPIO & UART Test.
Measure DC levels with a multimeter.
The GPIO signals can be monitored with a scope while sending the
Tetra Com command "HWCHECK_M GPIO_GO". If the outputs from
the processor do not change, replace the MCM (Multiple Chip Module).

Did the GPIO
test fail
?
Yes
Check the following:
For GP 1 IN 0:
Check stage Q0156
For GP 2 OUT 0:
Check stage Q0159
For GP 5 IN 0:
Check stage Q0160
For GP 6 IN 0:
Check stage Q0150, Q0151
For GP 6 OUT 0:
Check stage Q0150, Q0151
For GP 8 IN 0:
Check stage Q0152, Q0153
For GP 8 OUT 0:
Check stage Q0152, Q0153
If no defective component was found,
replace the MCM.
