Notes:
1. An opening here means an opening element, such as an openable window, or
a fi xed opening such as a air vent. However, in addition, the outlet should not
be nearer than 150mm to an opening into the building fabric formed for the
purpose of accommodating a built in element, such as a window frame.
2. Boundary as defi ned in the Building Regulations (England & Wales) or the
Building Standards (Scotland) Regulations.
3. Where the wall adjacent to a vertical fl ue terminal includes an opening win-
dow, the clearance between the terminal and any part of the opening window
must not be less than 1000 mm.
