Section 2
| Commissioning
If possible, the gateway should be installed first, before all other components. This gives you better control of
the installation progress. The following sections explain the usual procedure for the initial operation.

2.1 System requirements

Power supply:
5V DC (via included power adapter up to 100 – 240V AC) or 48V PoE (Power-over-Ethernet)
Devices with a PoE option can be powered either via PoE or the included AC adapter;
Devices without PoE option can only be powered via AC adapter.
Web browser with HTML4/5, CSS2/3 and JavaScript, e.g.:
Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft ® Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox®, Opera, etc.
Data link:
Ethernet 10/100Mbit/s and IPv4 network environment (IPv6 will be featured by a future update)

2.2 Connecting the gateway

Connecting the gateway to your network
Use the included network wire (G) to connect the gateway to your DSL, UMTS or LTE router (see figure).
Connecting the gateway to power supply
Connect the included power adapter (H) to your gateway and plug it into the power socket (see figure 2). This
device may only be connected to an easily accessible power socket indoors.
In case of danger the main connector has to be disconnected.
If you chose the gateway variant "Power-over-Ethernet Powered Device" (PoE PD), you can provide the supply
voltage via network wire. This requires a PoE switch or a PoE injector meeting the IEEE 802.3af standard, capa-
ble of providing a power of 1,5W up to 4W, if using the USB host slot.
Caution:
To avoid damage to the device, use only the included original AC adapter as a power supply.
