d. Select EI or CI from the Ionization Mode pull-down menu.
Note Only use CI if you have installed a CI ion volume in the MS and connected
CI reagent gas to your system. If you have CI, select a CI Gas Type from the
pull-down menu and set the CI Gas Flow. Typical values for Methane CI for NCI
are 1.0–1.5 mL/min. For Methane CI for PCI, the gas flows are typically
1.5–2.0 mL/min. Click the Apply to All Groups Button at the top of the
method editor. The single value at the top of the method is sent when initializing
the MS with the method. See
e. To assign gases to the CI gas ports, open the TSQ 8000 Evo Dashboard and click
Instrument Control in the Status tab.

Set CI Gas Port A or CI Gas Port B to the appropriate CI gas attached to that port.
You may only use one CI Gas Port per method.
