1.3 About This Manual
Introduction
This Service Manual contains the information necessary to
align, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the CELL-DYN 3200
Automated Hematology System.
Service Manual Section Descriptions
The manual is composed of five sections. The following are
descriptions of the contents of each of the sections.
Section 1: Introduction
This section contains an introduction to the system, information
on the use of the manual, warranty information, safety
considerations, hematology parameters, and system
specifications.
Section 2: Troubleshooting
This section contains procedures to be used by the FSR in
identifying and isolating problems. The procedures are
presented in a flowchart format and are accompanied by
illustrations for added clarity. A detailed explanation of the use
of the flowcharts is given at the beginning of the section.
Section 3: Parts Lists
This section contains parts lists and graphics showing the
locations of FRUs. This section is used by the FSR in
conjunction with Troubleshooting and Removal & Replacement.

Section 4: Removal & Replacement
This section contains the procedures to be used by the FSR for
the removal and replacement of subassemblies and
components. The procedures are presented in a paragraph
format and are accompanied by illustrations for added clarity.
Section 5: Verification Procedures
This section contains procedures that enable the FSR to verify
the integrity of various instrument functions. These procedures
may be used to facilitate troubleshooting, or be dictated by
Troubleshooting and Removal and Replacement.
This section also contains procedures such as adjustments,
alignments, and calibrations used to ensure proper instrument
performance. These procedures may be performed on a routine
maintenance basis, or be dictated by Removal and
Replacement.
1.4 CELL-DYN 3200 Operator's Manual
Operating instructions and routine maintenance procedures for
the CELL-DYN 3200 are included in the Operator's Manual
provided with each system. It is essential that the service
engineer read and understand the Operator's Manual, and be
able to correctly perform all routine operating functions before
attempting to troubleshoot and repair the system.
