Playing back messages

There are three ways to start playing back
messages on the answering machine.
u Start message playback via the Voice
Mail menu:
v ¢ Ì ¢ Play Messages
If you have entered a number for the net-
work mailbox you still need to select the
answering machine:
¢ Answ. Machine
u Start message playback via the answe-
ring machine list:
f ¢ Ans. Machine:
The list is displayed with the number of
new messages:
Ans. Machine:

Press the display key to open
the list.
u Fast access to the answer machine:
To access the answer machine, simply
press and hold the key – you do not
have to select it via the menu.
The integrated answering machine has
already been preset at the factory. How-
ever, if you have set the network mailbox
for fast access (¢ page 45), you can
change this setting.

The setting for fast access applies to all
registered handsets.
If you have new messages, playback will
start with the first new message, otherwise
with the first old message. The loudspeaker
on the handset switches on automatically.
To switch it off, press the handsfree key d.
Messages consist of
u the message header
(number/date/time) and
u the message body (recorded text).
The header is played back first, then the
body.

Stopping and controlling playback
Controlling playback depends on the point
in time at which the corresponding key is
pressed.
During message playback:

Pause playback. Press 2 again to
resume.

During playback of message
or
header: Go to the start of the previ-
ous message.
During playback of message
body: Go to the start of the current
message.

Go to the start of the next message.
or

During playback of message
header: Skip header.
During playback of message
body: Go to the body of the next
message.
Skipping back from the first message jumps
to the last message. Skipping forward from
the last message jumps to the first message.
If playback is interrupted for over a minute,
the answering machine returns to idle sta-
tus.
