Preface
Memory
By default, the PRIMERGY TX100 S2 Core Edition server comes equipped with
two 2 GB memory modules. The system board D2779 offers four memory slots
for DDR3-1066/1333 UDIMMs (up to 16 GB).

Please note, that the preinstalled Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation
operating system only provides access to a maximum of 8 GB of
available memory.
Hard disk drives and onboard SATA controller
The PRIMERGY TX100 S2 Core Edition server can accommodate up to four
SAS / SATA hard disk drives. By default, it comes equipped with two 3.5-inch
SATA hard disk drives, each with a capacity of 1 TB.
Onboard SATA controller
The onboard SATA controller supports up to four SATA hard disk drives. The LSI
Embedded MegaRAID software (SATA Software RAID) supports RAID levels 0,
1 and 10.
By default, the two hard disk drives are combined into a RAID 1 array.
Accessible drives
The first (top) bay contains the server's DVD drive.
The 5.25-inch bay below is available for one additional accessible drive
(CD/DVD drives or a magnetic tape drive).
The accessible drives cannot be replaced during operation.
Cooling
The efficient cooling system prevents high temperatures and results in lower fan
speed and less noise.
Power supply
The server has a built-in power supply unit, which automatically sets itself to a
mains voltage in the range of 100 V - 240 V.
