Make sure to wipe off any excess coff ee from
the rim of the fi lter to ensure a proper seal is
achieved under the group head.
Brewing your espresso
When brewing coff ee, make sure the water
fl ows through the coff ee fi lter at the correct
rate. The water fl ow can be adjusted by
varying the pressure that the coff ee is
tamped (pressed down) in the fi lter or by
changing the grind of the coff ee.
If you wish to taste espresso of the right
quality, do not extract more than 30 ml
(using a fi lter for 1 cup) or 60 ml in case of
double espresso (using a fi lter for 2 cups).
Do not over-extract your coff ee – more
than recommended amount. This will result
a colorless crema on the top. Crema is the
caramel coloured layer that fl oats on top of
the coff ee following extraction.
The taste of your coff ee will, of course,
depend on personal preference and on
many other factors such as freshness of the
coff ee bean; fi neness or coarseness of the
grind; tamping pressure (pressing down);
quantity of the coff ee grind in the fi lter
basket.
