TouchPad board
TouchPad cable
Before removing the TouchPad board, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the following components:
a.
Battery (see
b.
Optical drive (see
c.
Base enclosure (see
d.
Hard drive (see
e.
SSD (see
f.
Disconnect the WLAN cable (see
g.
Right speaker (see
h.
USB board (see
i.
Fan (see
j.
Heat sink for discrete graphics memory (see
k.
Left speaker (see
l.
System board (see
Remove the TouchPad board:
1.
Lift the plastic protector (1) away from the TouchPad.
2.
Carefully remove the three Phillips M2.0 x 2.0 screws (2) that secure the TouchPad bracket to the
computer.
3.
Remove the TouchPad bracket (3) that secures the TouchPad board.
