11.5.1. When the recording paper is not fed into the unit properly

The display will show the following.
1.
Pull the paper input tray until it clicks into place, then pull it com-
pletely out, lifting the front part of the tray. Remove the recording
paper and straighten.
2.
Re-load the recording paper.
3.
Press set.
4.
Insert the paper input tray into the unit, lifting the front part of the
tray. Then push it completely into the unit.
Note:
• If the message is still displayed, check the recording paper specifications and load the recording paper again.

11.6. Cleaning the Document Scanning Area

If the receiving party reports that the received documents were black or contained black lines, try making a copy on your unit to ver-
ify. If the copy is black or has black lines, the document Scanning Area is probably dirty and must be cleaned.
To clear the Scanning Area
1.
Open the ADF Cover.
2.
Wipe the Scanning Area gently with a soft cloth gauze moistened
with ethyl alcohol. Be sure to use a clean cloth as the scanning area
can be easily scratched.
