5.3 Reading out the smoke alarm
device
A readout cycle of one year is
recommended.

After you have switched on the device
and connected the smoke alarm device
with the RWM MC, you can read out the
smoke alarm device:
(1) Ensure that the RWM MC and the
smoke alarm device are switched on
f Observe the operating manual for
the smoke alarm device
5 After initialisation of the software
is complete, the message "Melder
auslesen - Bestätigen" (Read out
device - Confirm).
(2) Press the Start button
5 The message "Melder lesen" (Read
device) appears. A status bar
informs you of the progress of the
readout procedure.
Two signal tones
5 As a result, you will see the message
"Melder i.O." (Device OK) or "Ver-
schmutzt" (Contaminated).
If there is no smoke alarm device
connected, you will see the
message "FEHLER Verbindung
fehlgeschlagen Kabel prüfen
ansonsten einschicken" (ERROR
connection failed check cable
otherwise send in) (see chapter
5.6 "Malfunctions" on page 36).
Melder i.O. (Device OK)
When the message "Melder i.O. " (Device
OK) appears, the tested smoke alarm
device can be used without restrictions.
5 A check mark appears in the bot-
tom right display area.
5 Under the status, you will see the
serial number of the smoke alarm
device, the chamber value (see
chapter 5.4 "Kammerwert (Cham-
ber value)" on page 34) and the
type of the smoke alarm device.
(1) Call up the readout protocol with
"Weiter" (Continue) by pressing
the Start button

5 The events recorded by the smoke
alarm device (see chapter 5.5
"Events" on page 35) and their
numbers are displayed.
(2) Terminate the readout procedure
with "Schließen" (Close) by pressing
the Start button
(3) Remove the adapter cable from the
smoke alarm device
The readout procedure can now be per-

formed on other smoke alarm devices.
Verschmutzt (Contaminated)
If the message "Verschmutzt" (Contaminated)
appears, the tested smoke alarm device may
no longer be used and must be replaced.
