1. Stop the engine.
2. Shift into neutral.
3. Raise the outboard motor to the tilt up
position.
4. Change the thrust rod position as fol-

Do not tilt up or down outboard motor
when swimmer(s) or passenger is near to
prevent them from being caught between
outboard motor body and clamp bracket in
case the outboard motor body falls.
