1. Stop the engine.
2. Shift into neutral.
3. Raise the outboard motor to the tilt up
position.
4. Change the thrust rod position as fol-

when swimmer(s) or passenger is near to
prevent them from being caught between
outboard motor body and clamp bracket in
case the outboard motor body falls.
