1 INTRODUCTION

The 4623 and 4628 conductivity transmitters and associated
measuring cells have been designed to meet United States
Pharmacopœia (USP 23) requirements for continuous
monitoring and control of the conductivity of demineralised
water, and de-ionised water.
The 4623 model is a wall-mounted instrument and the 4628
model a panel-mounted, DIN sized instrument. Both
instruments have a single programmable conductivity input
channel and a single temperature input channel. When
making temperature compensated measurements the sample
temperature is sensed by a Pt100 resistance thermometer
mounted in the measuring cell or, alternatively, using a
separate temperature sensor.
Instrument operation and programming is via four tactile
membrane keys located on the front panel. Programmed
functions are protected from unauthorised alteration by a five-
digit security code.
