USER INTERFACE REDESIGN

Release 4.2.0 introduces a new contemporary user interface for the 6867i, 6869i, and 6973i
SIP phones. Borrowing many best practices from the mobile world, the UI has been redesigned
to improve clarity and ease-of-use but has also been engineered to ensure the user experience
is instantly familiar.
Highlights of the new UI include:
• To help improve navigational efficiency, avatars and names now take priority over numbers
and extensions.
• New color scheme implemented to help improve visual clarity. The use of color is limited
to important functions like active buttons, avatars, status, alerts, and warnings. Color is not
used as decoration.
• Minimal use of font colors for legibility purposes. The combination of the font colors on the
light background provides the UI with a modern, uncluttered, and timeless feel.
• Font sizes take into consideration important information that needs to be seen from across
the office as well as more detailed information that is only relevant during interaction at an
arms length distance.
• Completely redesigned icon set. UI elements now harmonized to align with all other Mitel
products and solutions.
• Re-engineered UI with touchscreen functionality for the 6873i SIP phone including
on-screen keyboard integration.
