8. Software Update

BY default, your receiver automatically checks if new software is available on the cable network, and
downloads it when in standby.
You can also request in menu SETTING > SYSTEM UPDATE > SEARCH FOR NEW SOFTWARE that
the receiver automatically downloads any new software upgrade (see Software Update Mode, page 37).
If you change the software update mode to manual (see Software Update Mode, page 37), the receiver
will ask you if you want to accept, postpone until the next wake up or refuse the download.
In manual mode, when a new software is available for download, a prompt screen appears:
• To accept the download, select YES (UPGRADE NOW) with
The receiver will start downloading. You should not disconnect or use the receiver until it has finished
downloading:
- A status screen informs you of the download progress.
- Once the download is complete, the receiver switches automatically back to the program you were
watching before starting the download.
• To postpone the download, select NO (WAIT FOR STANDBY) with
The receiver will download the new software next time you put it in standby mode.
• To refuse the current download, select NO (DO NOT UPGRADE AT ALL) with
