The ZXMSG 5200 is a media access gateway, which is located in
the Next-Generation Network (NGN) and works with other media
gateways.
Figure 22 shows the ZXMSG 5200 application in NGN.

A next-generation network uses the IP protocol as its foundation.
The ZXMSG 5200 uses H.248 protocol to communicate with the
Media Gateway Controller (MGC).
Multi-Service Access Network (MSAN) provides two interfaces at
the network side, for broadband and narrowband services.
Broadband services access the IP network through the Ethernet
interface, while narrowband services access the narrowband
service through the E1 interface.
Figure 23 shows the upgrade of ZXMSG 5200 from MSAN in a
narrowband and broadband network.
