ADSL rates expand existing access capacity by a factor of 50 or
more without new cabling. ADSL can literally transform the
existing public information network from one limited to voice,
text, and low-resolution graphics to a powerful system capable
of bringing multimedia, including full motion video to every
home.

ADSL features are as follows:
ANSI T1.413 issue 2, ITU-T G.992.1, ITU-T G.992.2, ITU-T
G.996.1, ITU-T G.992.3, and ITU-T G.992.5 standards.
Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) modulation mode.
Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) mode.
Asymmetric transmission mode. The uplink rate is 1 Mbps
and downlink rate is 8 or 9 Mbps.
ADSL automatically adjusts data rate upon the line condition
while initialization.
ADSL line query and configuration parameters include
uplink/downlink rate, noise tolerance, output power, and line
attenuation.
ADSL obtain bits quantity at each sub-carrier side.
Online loading function for programmable apparatus and
card software.
Remote maintenance and remote software upgrade.
Line alarm maintenance and message report function.
Each ADSL interface supports eight PVC connections.
