2. Measure:

Out of s p e c i f i c a t i o n ~ S c r a p e the mica to
the p r o p e r v a l u e (a h a c k s a w blade can
be g r o u n d to fit).
NOTE:
The mica i n s u l a t i o n of the c o m m u t a t o r m u s t
be u n d e r c u t to ensure proper o p e r a t i o n of c o m -
m u t a t o r .

4. Inspect:
• A r m a t u r e coil resistances ( i n s t a l l a t i o n /
c o n t i n u i t y )
Defects-->Replace the starter m o t o r .
If c o m m u t a t o r is dirty, clean it w i t h sand-
paper.
