BRAKE CALIPER D I S A S S E M B L Y
NOTE:
Before disassembling either brake caliper, drain
the brake fluid from the brake hose, master
cylinder, brake caliper and reservoir tank.
1. Remove:
• Brake caliper piston
Removal steps:
• B l o w c o m p r e s s e d air into the hose joint
opening to force out the caliper piston from
the brake caliper body.

• N e v e r try to pry out the caliper piston.
• Cover the caliper piston w i t h a rag. Be care-
ful not to get injured w h e n the piston is ex-
pelled from the m a s t e r cylinder.
CAUTION:
Carefully r e m o v e the caliper piston to prevent
d a m a g e .
2. Remove:
• Dust seal ~)
• Piston seal ~)
When removing, push the seals by your
finger.
CAUTION:
• Do not use a sharp instrument. R e m o v e seals
by your finger.
• Do not re-use r e m o v e d parts.

1. Inspect:
• Caliper cylinder
• Caliper piston ~)
Scratches, wear--~Replace caliper as-
sembly.
