Starting the Engine in Cold Weather

(Below -5°C or 23°F)
Note: Use the correct engine oil for the starting temperature;

Important: Use starting cycles of no more than 30
seconds per minute to avoid overheating the starter
motor.
Note: Do not use fuel left over from the summer. Use only
fresh winter grade diesel fuel.

Stopping the Engine

CAUTION
Children or bystanders may be injured if they
attempt to move or operate the machine while it is
unattended.
Always remove the ignition key and set the parking
brake when leaving the machine unattended, even
if just for a few minutes.

Important: Make sure that you close the fuel-shutoff
valve before transporting or storing the machine, as
fuel leakage may occur. Set the parking brake before
transporting the machine. Make sure that you remove
the key as the fuel pump may run and cause the battery
to lose charge.
