Check or maintenance job
• Check the brake light. Repair or
replace the brake light if neces-
sary.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
BULBS AND BULB SOCKETS"
on page 8-184.
• Check the coupler for any pins
that may be pulled out.
• Check the locking condition of
the coupler.
• If there is a malfunction, repair
it and connect the coupler
securely.
TIP
Turn the main switch to "OFF"
before disconnecting or connect-
ing a coupler.
• Repair or replace if there is an
open or short circuit.
• Between rear brake light switch
coupler and ABS ECU coupler.
(Yellow–Yellow/green)
• Between front brake light switch
connectors and ABS ECU cou-
pler.
(Green/yellow–Yellow/green)
Use compressed air to blow out
the water.

confirmation
method
• Check that the
brake light
comes on
when the front
or rear brake
is applied.
• Turn the main
switch to "ON"
and check
that the ABS
warning light
comes on for
2 seconds,
then goes off.
