10 Gigabit Ethernet port expansion slots

The RackSwitch unit includes two port expansion slots, one on the front panel and
one on the rear panel. Each expansion slot accepts a dual-port 10 GbE (XGE)
uplink module for either CX4 or Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+).
You can add one or two XGE uplink modules, as follows:
SFP+ Uplink Module
Up to four 10 Gbps SFP+ modules can be installed on the RackSwitch. These ports
accept approved optical SFP+ transceivers. SFP+ transceivers can be purchased
separately.
CX4 Uplink Module
Up to four CX4 ports can be installed on the . These ports provide CX4 connectivity
between the RackSwitch and copper 10 GbE CX4 network devices. The CX4 ports
support link spans up to 15 meters on appropriate CX4-grade copper cables.
The CX4 ports provide powered CX4 automatically. The port detects when a
powered CX4 device is connected, and sends power to the device.
The RackSwitch is designed to accept most standard 10 GbE CX4 cables. For the
available transceivers and direct attach cables (DACs) for the switch, see:
