When the range is cool, washthe
top, front and, if exposed, the sides
withmild soap and water.Neveruse
anyharsh abrasives or cleaning
powdersthat may scratch or mar the
painted surface. Rinse the surface
with clean water and dry with a soft

apply a thin coat of mild cleaning

There are a number of precautions
you can take to avoidmarring the
porcelain enameled surface of the
cooktopand prevent it from
becoming dull. Don't slide heavy
pans across it. If you spill foods
with a lot of acid (tomatoes,
sauerkraut, fruit juices, etc.) or
foodswith high sugar content,
clean them up as soon as possible.
If allowed to set, these foods could
cause a duH spot. Also, no matter
howstubborn the food stain, never
use harsh abrasive cleansers. They
could permanently damage the
enamel surface. We recommend a
cleanser such as "Soft Scrub""
brand.
It'sa good idea to wipe the control
panel clean after each use of the
oven.Fora morethoroughcleaning,
the knobs can be remo~~ed b y
puHingthem off the knob sterns.
Clean with mild soap and water,
rinse with clean water and polish
dry with a softcloth.
Do not use abrasivecleansers,
strong liquid cleanersor oven
cleanerson the controlpanel—
they will damagethe finish.
Lift-up
Clean the area under the cooktop
often. Built-upsoil, especially
grease, may catch fire.
To make cleaning easier, the
cooktop maybe lifted up.
Before raising the
cooktop:

Be sure burners are turned off.
2. Removethe grates and, on
models so equipped, the drip pans.
Note: Some models are equipped
with dual support rods that will
snap into place when the front of
the cooktop is lifted all the way up.
To lower the cooktop again,
support the raised cooktop with
one hand, then carefully push the
bottom of each rod awayfrom you
until rod slides back down into the
side of the range.

To get rid of burned-onfood, soak
the grates in a slightlydiluted
liquidcleaner.
Althoughthey'redurable, the
grateswill graduallylose their
shine, regardlessof the best care
youcan give them. This is due to
their continualexposureto high
temperatures.
Do not operate a burner for an
extendedperiod of time without
cookwareon the grate. The finish
on the grate may chip without
cookwareto absorb the heat.
