This range has a standingovenpilot
port that must be lit initially.
T" light the oven pilot port:
1. Be sure OVEN CONTROL
knob is in the OFF position.
.2. Open the broiler drawer and pull
the drawerdown flat. Put the broiler
pan in the lowestposition and slide
the drawerback intothe range.This
will make it easier for you to reach
insidethe broiler compartment.

3. Find the oven pilot port at the
back of the broiler compartment.
The long tube, running from front
to back, is the oven burner. The
pilot port is at the back, about one
inch below the burner.
4. Using a long match or match
holder, reach in and light the oven
pilot.
To light the oven burner:
Turn the OVEN CONTROL knob
to the desired temperature.

shouldlight within60 seconds. You
will hear a little clickingnoise—the
soundof the electric spark igniting
the burner.
Power outage?
Althoughthe overdbroilerburner
on these ranges will not self-light
in the event of an electrical power
outage, a burner in use when an
electrical power outage occurs will
continueto operatenormally.
To light the oven pilotduring an
electricalpoweroutage, carefully
followthe stepsbelow:
1. Be sure OVENCONTROL
knob is in the OFF position.
2. Open both the ovenand broiler
doors and wait 5 minutesto aHow
any pilot gas to dissipate.
3. Unplugthe range from the wall
outlet, turn off the circuitbreaker
or removethe fuseto avoidaccidental
ignitionof the ovenif electrical
power is restored while you are
lightingthe pilot.
4. Put the broiler pan in the lowest
position.
5. Locate the ovenpilot assembly
by lookinginto the broiler opening.
The pilotis at the backof the broiler
compartment, on the left side of
the burner.
Note: The ovenmust beat room
temperature beforeyou should
attemptto light the ovenpilot
manually.
6. Turn the OVENCONTROL knob
to the desired temperature setting.
7. Light the pilot with a match and
withdrawyour arm immediately
because the ovenburner may light
in as little as 20 seconds.
8. Close the oven and broiler doors.
Note: It is necessary to light the
pilot manually each time the oven
is used during a power outage.
