Storage
WARNING
• Gasoline vapors can explode.
• Do not store gasoline more than 30 days.
• Do not store the machine in an enclosure near
an open flame.
• Allow the engine to cool before storing it.
Preparing the Machine for
Storage
1. On the last refueling of the year, add fuel stabilizer
to fresh fuel.
Note: Fuel should not be stored longer than
suggested by the fuel stabilizer manufacturer.
2. Run the engine for 10 minutes to distribute the
conditioned fuel through the fuel system.
3. Run the machine until the engine runs out of fuel.
4. Prime the engine and start it again.
5. Allow the engine to run until it stops. When you can
no longer start the engine, it is sufficiently dry.
6. Stop the engine and allow it to cool.
7. Remove the ignition key.
8. Clean the machine thoroughly.
9. Touch up chipped surfaces with paint available
from an Authorized Service Dealer. Sand affected
areas before painting, and use a rust preventative to
prevent the metal parts from rusting.
10. Tighten all loose screws, bolts, and locknuts. Repair
or replace any damaged parts.
11. Cover the machine and store it in a clean, dry place
out of the reach of children.
Removing the Machine from
Storage
Perform the annual maintenance procedures as given in
the Recommended Maintenance Schedule.
