Using Your Evinrude E-TEC Outboard
Always perform a pre-ride inspection before operating the boat. Check the proper
operation of critical controls, safety features and mechanical components. Correct
any problems BEFORE leaving the dock. Make sure all safety equipment required by
local law is onboard.

PRE-RIDE INSPECTION

A WARNING
Inspect.
Inspect condition of propeller. Repair or replace
damaged propeller.
Inspect water intake screens.
Ensure safety equipment is onboard.
Check. Refill as needed.
Drain. Ensure drain plug(s) are securely installed.
Check battery connections are clean, tight, and
insulated. Ensure battery/battery box are secure.
Check. Refill as needed.

Inspect condition. Attach tether cord to key switch
(remote control) or engine cut–off switch (tiller
control).
Confirm this Operator's Guide is onboard and
readily accessible.
