Checking the Cooling System

Service Interval: Before each use or daily—Check the level
of coolant in the expansion tank and
clean debris off the screen, oil cooler,
and front of the radiator.
The cooling system is filled with a 50/50 solution of water
and permanent ethylene glycol antifreeze. The capacity of the
cooling system is 9.5 L (10 US qt).
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the pressurized, hot
coolant can escape and cause burns.
• Do not open the radiator cap when the engine
is running.
• Use a rag when opening the radiator cap, and
open the cap slowly to allow steam to escape.
1. Check the level of coolant in the expansion tank
(Figure
49).
Note: The coolant level should be between the marks
on the side of the tank.
