Key-Lectric Starting System
Symptom: Starter motor does not turn over
Symptom: Starter motor turns too slowly
Symptom: Starter motor turns but does not turn over engine
[Possible Cause Remedy
Insufficient momentum Check for loose blade, flywheel
or
BBC flywheel.
Also check for causes of slow starter motor speed,
as this will decrease momentum
Starter pinion malfunctioning Repair
or replace
pinion
Symptom: Burnt insulation on wires or burnt alternator
Possible Cause
Short circuit in wire harness Test wire harness, see page 65
Short circuit in alternator Test alternator, see page 65
