When the engine is warm, move the choke
lever to OFF and release brakes.

Warm Engine Starting

Start the engine as explained above but with-
out any choke. If the engine will not start after
two 4-second attempts with the electric start-
er, move choke lever to half position. Start the
engine without activating the throttle lever. Af-
ter a few times, move the choke lever to OFF.

Stopping the Engine

WARNING
Avoid parking vehicle on slope.
Release throttle and completely stop the ve-
hicle.
Apply the parking brake by using brake lever
lock on front brake lever.
Press the clutch lever and shift to 1
Push the engine stop switch.
Turn key in ignition switch to OFF.
Remove key from ignition switch.

Shifting the Transmission

Gearshift Control
To shift the transmission, pull in the clutch le-
ver, then operate gearshift pedal as follows.
WARNING
Always use the clutch lever to upshift or
downshift.
