Cleaning the dust boots of the fork legs

Removing the fork legs

Preparatory work
Raise the motorcycle with the lift stand. (
Remove the fork protector. (
Main work
Push dust boots
Info
The dust boots remove dust and coarse dirt particles from the inside fork
tubes. Over time, dirt can penetrate behind the dust boots. If this dirt is not
removed, the shaft seal rings behind can start to leak.
Warning

Danger of accidents Reduced braking efficiency due to oil or grease on the
brake discs.
Clean and oil the dust boots and inner fork tube of both fork legs.
Universal oil spray (
Press the dust boots back into their normal position.
Remove excess oil.
Finishing work
Install the fork protector. (
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. (
Preparatory work
Switch off all power consumers and switch off the engine.
Remove the headlight mask with the headlight. (
Raise the motorcycle with the lift stand. (
Remove the front wheel.
Main work
Remove screws
Remove the cable tie(s) and detach plug-in connector
Remove screws
Allow the brake caliper and brake line to hang tension-free to the side.
