Troubleshooting (Cont.)
POSSIBLE CAUSES
There is an unusual halo effect on the picture.
1 This may occur
because of the
influence of ultraviolet
rays specifically when
you shoot a subject
under the condition
where there is a big
difference in brightness
among portions of the
subject such as
sunbeams shining
through branches of
trees, lights coming
through windows in
night scene or lights
reflected on metals.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
1 The use of a UV filter may
affect the total color balance
of the picture. Therefore it is
recommended to use a UV
filter only under the condition
described on the left.
2 Retouch the picture using
photo-retouching software
such as Photoshop and
Paint Shop Pro after
transferring it to the
computer. Using the
software, you can sample
the unnaturally colored
portion with a color-sampling
tool such as the eyedropper
tool, specify the color range,
and then replace the color
with an appropriate one or
adjust color saturation. For
details information about
retouching, refer to the
instruction manual of the
software.
