Ch. 10 • Audio Vocal Processor (PS1300 only)
In addition to the Hard Disk, PS1300 also features the Audio Vocal Processor.
The A.V.P. is a device which allows you to:
a) process your voice or instrument sound with the PS1300 internal effects;
b) duplicate your voice up to 4 times to create harmonized effects while you
play, simulating a choir.
The A.V.P. incorporates a programmable digital compressor capable of limiting
possible saturation of the microphone signal, and a digital programmable stereo
three-band equalizer.
Note: The AVP feature is not available for the PS1000.

The A.V.P. interface

The A.V.P. interface consists of two jacks (MIC and LINE) and a GAIN control.
MIC
Connect a microphone to this jack. The better the quality
of the microphone, the better the results. By adjusting the
value of the compression, you can limit distortion, both in
direct mode as well as in the harmonizing mode.
LINE
This jack is suitable for a musical instrument or other au-
dio source (keyboard, CD, tape recorder, etc.). You can
connect both Line and Mic at the same time. The Line
jack is only suitable for direct applications which can be
processed by the PS1300 internal digital effects (Reverb/
Chorus). The compressor is disabled for the Line jack.
GAIN
This twin control allows you to independently adjust the
Gain of both Mic and Line signals. In any case, for the
first step it is best to adjust the overall volume of the in-
strument with the Master Volume panel slider, then adjust
the input signal with the Gain knob. The small inner con-
trol adjusts the MIC signal and the larger outer control
adjusts the LINE signal. If saturation of either jacks should
occur, reduce the GAIN level until you obtain satisfactory
results.
